RedLunar: a hosted-payload lunar orbiter

The first operational mission in SpaceOro's lunar infrastructure program — a 12U orbiter for extended scientific observation and technology demonstration in a highly stable, low-altitude polar orbit.

The foundational flight for a series of lunar orbital platforms, establishing deep-space operations, hosted payload integration and lunar data relay.

Objectives & payload suite

The frozen orbit needs almost no propulsive station-keeping, making RedLunar a highly stable observation platform.

01

Environmental monitoring

Continuous mapping of the lunar radiation environment, micrometeoroid flux and plasma interactions.

02

Precision orbital dynamics

Validating autonomous orbit maintenance and long-term flight dynamics in low lunar orbit.

03

Hosted science & tech demos

International partner instruments needing persistent, long-term deep-space exposure.

Operations & autonomy

Autonomous operation with infrequent ground contact. A single 26-gram orbital trim maneuver maintains periapsis over the full mission — a closed, autonomous orbit maintenance capability. X-band downlink via SpaceOro's mission operations center delivers high-rate data to science partners.

Manifest status

The payload manifest for RedLunar Mission 1 is fully booked. Integration and testing are progressing toward the 2027 launch window.
